Yearn information

Yearn Price History

  • 2020 - Price range: €645.19 - €37,032.14
YFI launched in July, and the price moved around a lot after that. From about €645, it quickly climbed in August and September to more than €37,000. After that, it pulled back: by the end of December, the price was around €18,614, almost 49.7% lower than at the peak. Yearn launched YFI in July as a governance token and distributed the tokens to liquidity providers. This gave users a say in the protocol.
  • 2021 - Price range: €16,409.04 - €76,939.40
YFI rose sharply in the spring and reached about €76,939 in May. During the broad crypto sell-off in May, the price dropped hard. After more swings, YFI was around €16,409 in early December, then recovered to about €28,968 by the end of the year. That was 55.7% higher than at the start of January. In January, Yearn introduced V2 vaults, which could spread funds across multiple strategies. In February, YFI holders agreed to create extra tokens for developers and the community.
  • 2022 - Price range: €3,876.85 - €36,713.64
YFI started January around €28,999, but then fell sharply over the year. In May, Terra and the UST stablecoin collapsed, putting heavy pressure on the broader crypto and DeFi market. In November, broad turmoil followed the collapse of FTX. YFI ended the year around €4,744, about 83.6% lower than at the start. By the end of 2022, Yearn introduced veYFI governance. This let holders lock YFI for a set period and get voting power based on their locked position. The related reward structure was later developed further.
  • 2023 - Price range: €4,392.62 - €14,621.92
YFI started the year around €4,744 and climbed above €7,000 in January. After that, the price fell back and spent some time moving mostly around €5,000. In November, YFI surged to about €14,622, but after a sharp reversal the price dropped again. That reversal followed an incident involving large leveraged YFI positions on dYdX; the exchange used about $9 million from its insurance fund. YFI ended the year around €7,344, 54.8% higher than at the start. In August, Yearn had deployed its V3 contracts on multiple networks, with vaults and strategies that could also be set up by others.
  • 2024 - Price range: €3,960.71 - €13,947.56
YFI started January around €7,343 and mostly moved between about €6,000 and €9,000 in the first half of the year. In August, the price dropped to about €3,961 during a broad sell-off in financial markets. After that, YFI recovered strongly and climbed to almost €13,948 in December, before falling back to about €7,718 at the end of the year. In April, Yearn introduced a Dutch auction system to automatically carry out certain transactions in its strategies. The price ended the year 5.1% higher than at the start.
  • 2025 - Price range: €2,583.37 - €8,940.54
YFI briefly rose to about €8,941 in early January, but then dropped in big steps. In April, the price fell to around €4,000, followed by a temporary recovery to more than €5,700 in May. After that, the decline continued. YFI ended the year around €2,775, about 64% lower than at the start. In February, about $1.5 billion in crypto was stolen from Bybit, a major shock for the broader crypto market. In September, Yearn proposed a new setup for governance and tokenomics. In November, an exploit of the yETH pool was reported; Yearn said its V2 and V3 vaults were not affected.
  • Q1 2026 - Price range: €1,786.05 - €3,485.23
YFI started January around €2,775 and first moved higher that month, but then dropped sharply toward the end of January and into early February. After a low around €1,786, the price partially recovered and ended the quarter around €2,153. That was 22.4% lower than at the start. In February, Yearn launched stYFI and a migration system that let holders move to the new staking model. Earlier, in January, Yearn had already introduced yvUSD, a vault where users can deposit USDC on Ethereum and that uses strategies across multiple supported networks.
  • Q2 2026 - Price range: €1,243.72 - €2,809.55
YFI started April around €2,148 and mostly traded between about €2,100 and €2,400 that month. In early May, the price briefly rose to about €2,810, after which a gradual decline followed. In early June, YFI fell to about €1,244 and ended the quarter around €1,421, 33.8% lower than at the start. In April, Aave froze markets for rsETH after an attacker exploited a bridge route for that token. That incident highlighted how much DeFi products depend on bridges and collateral.
  • Q3 2026 - Price range: €1,386.50 - €2,450.05
YFI started July around €1,421 and quickly rose to about €2,450 in the first week. After that, the price pulled back and mostly traded between about €1,650 and €2,000 in August and early September. Later in September, YFI moved higher again and ended the quarter around €2,173, 52.9% higher than at the start. On July 1, the final transition period under MiCA ended. Providers that wanted to keep offering crypto services in the EU had to meet the applicable licensing requirements from that point on. In July, Yearn also proposed yTranche, a plan to split vault risk and yield into separate parts; this was a proposal, not proof that the systems had already launched.
  • Q4 2026 - Price range: €1,980.20 - €2,440.65
Through October 9, YFI first rose from about €2,173 to almost €2,441. After that, the price fell to around €1,980 and then saw a small recovery to about €2,088. That was 3.9% lower than on October 1. On October 14, Yearn reported that the core parts of the YIP-88 overhaul were live. This included the new staking and migration system, as well as on-chain governance.
