Tezos Price History


  • 2018 - Price range: €0.2766 - €3.818
    Tezos launched its betanet at the end of June, after which the price was around €3.78 in early July. In the first few days, the price quickly dropped back down and then kept falling. In September, the network moved to mainnet, ending the beta phase. After a sharp drop to around €0.28 in December, XTZ recovered to about €0.40 by the end of the year.
  • 2019 - Price range: €0.3173 - €1.65
    XTZ started the year around €0.40 and fell to about €0.32 in February. After that, the price moved higher, with a strong rise in March and April, and reached about €1.65 in December. That year, Tezos activated its first protocol upgrade, Athens, which increased transaction limits and lowered the amount of tez needed to participate as a baker. The price closed around €1.21, about 199.1% higher than at the start of the year.
  • 2020 - Price range: €0.911 - €3.795
    XTZ started the year around €1.20 and quickly climbed above €3 in February. During the market drop in March, the price fell to about €0.91. After that, XTZ recovered and rose to nearly €3.80 in August before falling back again and ending the year around €1.65. The sharp market drop in March came alongside the global turmoil around COVID-19 and emergency measures from central banks.
  • 2021 - Price range: €1.612 - €7.906
    XTZ started the year around €1.65 and rose in the spring, peaking above €6 in May. After a sharp pullback, the price recovered in the summer and climbed to about €7.91 in early October. After that, XTZ fell again and closed the year around €3.83, still 132.1% higher than at the start. In August, Tezos activated Granada: blocks became faster and the network got a subsidized pool for liquidity.
  • 2022 - Price range: €0.6605 - €4.732
    XTZ started the year around €3.83 and climbed to about €4.73 in early January. After that, the price fell throughout the year, with sharp losses in May and June. The collapse of Terra and UST led to heavy turmoil in the crypto market in May; in November, the fall of FTX caused new market stress. XTZ closed the year around €0.67, about 82.5% lower than at the start.
  • 2023 - Price range: €0.5835 - €1.389
    XTZ started the year around €0.67 and rose in January and February to about €1.39. After that, the price gradually declined, hitting a low around €0.58 in October. In the final months, XTZ recovered and closed the year around €0.92, about 37.1% higher than at the start. In March, the Mumbai upgrade brought Smart Rollups to the Tezos network. That allowed applications to run outside the main chain while Tezos handled settlement and security.
  • 2024 - Price range: €0.4974 - €1.807
    XTZ started January around €0.92 and rose above €1.40 in March. In the summer, the price fell further and reached about €0.50 in August. After that came a strong recovery: in December, XTZ climbed to about €1.81 before the price pulled back and ended the year around €1.24. In June, the Paris upgrade activated ten-second blocks and a Data Availability Layer, which gave rollups more room to process data.
  • 2025 - Price range: €0.3588 - €1.486
    XTZ started the year around €1.24 and climbed to about €1.49 in early January. After that, the price mostly declined, with the drop speeding up in February and lower levels again in the fall. On December 18, XTZ fell to about €0.36 and then recovered slightly. The price closed the year around €0.42, about 66.1% lower than at the start. In January, Tezos activated the Quebec upgrade, which shortened block time from ten to eight seconds and adjusted the staking model. In May, Rio followed, making staking cycles shorter and making rewards partly dependent on participation in the Data Availability Layer.
  • Q1 2026 - Price range: €0.291 - €0.552
    XTZ rose in January from about €0.42 to a peak around €0.55. After that, the price dropped sharply: by the end of January it was around €0.39, and in February XTZ fell further. After some swings, the price reached about €0.29 at the end of March and closed the quarter around €0.30, about 27.6% lower than at the start. The Tallinn upgrade went live in January and shortened the network's block time to six seconds.
  • Q2 2026 - Price range: €0.1756 - €0.3424
    XTZ started April around €0.30 and rose during April and early May to about €0.34. After that, the price gradually declined, with a sharper drop in June. On June 25, XTZ fell to about €0.18, and the quarter ended around €0.18, about 41.7% lower than at the start. On June 30, the Ushuaia upgrade went live. This update increases the capacity of the Data Availability Layer for rollups.
  • Q3 2026 - Price range: €0.1658 - €0.3486
    XTZ started July around €0.18 and rose in the first few days to above €0.23. After that, the price fell back and reached about €0.17 in August. In September, a strong rebound followed: the price climbed to about €0.35 before XTZ pulled back again and ended the quarter around €0.28. On September 24, Tezos launched Quantumnet, an experimental testnet to try out new quantum-resistant account security and other network options.
  • Q4 2026 - Price range: €0.2497 - €0.3079
    In the first few days of October, XTZ rose from about €0.28 to nearly €0.31. After that, the price fell and dropped to about €0.25 on October 8. One day later, it recovered slightly to around €0.26. This quarterly overview runs through October 9.
