Stellar Price History


  • 2014 - Price range: €0,0009791 - €0,007672
    Stellar was introduced in July as a network for sending and exchanging money. In December, after a sharp drop, XLM surged to about €0,0077, after which the price fell back and ended the year around €0,0046. A problem with the original consensus mechanism led to a split in the transaction history in December. This raised questions about the network's reliability at the time.
  • 2015 - Price range: €0,001227 - €0,004963
    XLM started January around €0,0046 and briefly rose to nearly €0,005. After that, the price gradually declined, with occasional rebounds, to about €0,0016 at the end of the year. In 2015, Stellar replaced the original network with a version using the Stellar Consensus Protocol; holders could swap their old tokens one for one.
  • 2016 - Price range: €0,001252 - €0,003015
    XLM fell in the spring from about €0,0016 to the lowest level of the year. After that, the price recovered gradually and kept rising in September and December, ending the year around €0,00235. In May, Deloitte named Stellar as one of five blockchain companies it was developing prototypes with for financial institutions.
  • 2017 - Price range: €0,001516 - €0,3254
    XLM moved around a few thousandths of a euro during the first few months. In May, a strong rally followed, after which the price pulled back in the summer and later surged again. By the end of December, XLM was around €0,30, about 12.726,7% higher than at the start of the year. In October, IBM announced a live solution for international payments that used Stellar and was already processing transactions through twelve currency corridors.
  • 2018 - Price range: €0,08236 - €0,7800
    XLM briefly rose to about €0,78 at the start of January, but then dropped sharply. After a recovery in the spring, the price fell further and ended the year around €0,098, about 67,3% lower than at the start. This happened during the broad shift in the crypto market after the strong growth of 2017. In November, Stellar also announced an XLM distribution to Blockchain Wallet users, worth $125 million.
  • 2019 - Price range: €0,03854 - €0,1413
    XLM started the year around €0,098 and rose to about €0,14 in May. After that, the price fell for months, with a brief rebound in November, to about €0,040 at the end of December. In October, Stellar stopped the yearly creation of extra lumens. In early November, the Stellar Development Foundation also destroyed about 55.5 billion XLM and adjusted its plans for the further distribution of tokens.
  • 2020 - Price range: €0,02548 - €0,1928
    XLM started the year around €0,040 and rose in February, but during the market crash in March it fell to about €0,0255. After that, the price recovered gradually and the rise accelerated in November, to about €0,193. In December, it pulled back; XLM ended the year around €0,105, still 161,3% higher than at the start. During the COVID-19 shock, the Federal Reserve sharply cut interest rates and took measures to support financial markets.
  • 2021 - Price range: €0,1026 - €0,6558
    XLM rose in the first few months from about €0,105 to a peak of around €0,656 in May. After that came a steep drop, and in the second half of the year the price mostly moved sideways and ended around €0,235. In February, USDC became available on Stellar, allowing companies and developers to use this dollar stablecoin directly on the network. In November, Stellar also activated Protocol 18, with automated marketplaces for swapping tokens through liquidity pools.
  • 2022 - Price range: €0,06629 - €0,2602
    XLM rose to about €0,26 at the start of January, but then mostly declined throughout the year. In May, the collapse of TerraUSD caused major turmoil in the crypto market, followed by problems at crypto companies and lenders. The fall of FTX in November brought a lot of uncertainty again. XLM ended the year around €0,066, about 71,8% lower than at the start. Meanwhile, MoneyGram Access made it possible starting in June to deposit USDC and withdraw cash through participating crypto wallets.
  • 2023 - Price range: €0,06604 - €0,1632
    XLM started around €0,066 and gradually moved higher in the first few months. In July, the price briefly rose to about €0,163, after which it pulled back; the year ended around €0,117, still 76,7% higher than at the start. In September, Circle launched the euro stablecoin EURC on Stellar. That added a euro-pegged coin from a major issuer to the network for payments and token swaps.
  • 2024 - Price range: €0,06893 - €0,6089
    XLM mostly moved between about €0,10 and €0,14 in the first few months. After falling further to around €0,069 in August, the price quickly climbed to about €0,609 in November. In December, XLM pulled back again and ended the year around €0,321, 173,7% higher than at the start. The broader crypto market got a major boost early in the year when the U.S. securities regulator approved spot bitcoin investment products. Stellar also went live with Soroban in February, its smart contract support; starting in March, users and developers could build applications on it.
  • 2025 - Price range: €0,1681 - €0,5011
    XLM started January around €0,321 and rose to about €0,50 that month. After that, the price fell, with recovery moments in March, May, and July, to around €0,171 at the end of the year. In September, Stellar activated Whisk, a protocol upgrade that includes parallel processing, among other things. After a problem with archiving network data, Protocol 24 followed in October, an upgrade meant to restore stability. PayPal's dollar stablecoin PYUSD also became available on Stellar in September.
  • Q1 2026 - Price range: €0,1157 - €0,2181
    XLM rose to about €0,218 at the start of January, but then fell back. In early February, the price dropped to around €0,116. After that, XLM recovered gradually and ended the quarter around €0,145, 15,4% lower than at the start. In January, Stellar activated X-Ray, an upgrade with cryptographic tools that developers can use for applications with zero-knowledge proofs.
  • Q2 2026 - Price range: €0,1202 - €0,2555
    XLM fell in April and May and reached about €0,120 around May 23. After that came a quick rebound: by the end of May, the price had climbed to around €0,256. In June, XLM pulled back again and ended the quarter around €0,165, 14,6% higher than at the start. In May, Stellar activated Yardstick, an upgrade that introduces, among other things, a security mechanism that lets validators jointly step in when certain problems with network assets arise. That same month, DTCC announced plans to connect its tokenized securities service with Stellar.
  • Q3 2026 - Price range: €0,1316 - €0,2087
    XLM fell in July and August and dropped to about €0,132 around mid-August. After that, the price recovered, with a stronger rise in September, and ended the quarter around €0,200. That was 20,6% higher than at the start. In September, Stellar activated Adapter, an upgrade that offers more flexibility for managing smart contracts and gives validators extra ways to respond to network issues.
  • Q4 2026 - Price range: €0,1651 - €0,2037
    Through October 9, XLM fell from about €0,200 at the start of October. After a brief rebound, the price dropped further in early October to around €0,165, after which it recovered to about €0,172. This is 13,7% lower than on October 1. On that day, Stellar activated Protocol 29, a security update that fixed vulnerabilities in Stellar Core.

Upcoming Technical Updates


  • DTC tokenization service on Stellar - Expected in 2027 - DTCC and the Stellar Development Foundation expect tokenized DTC securities to become available on Stellar in the first half of 2027. The connection is meant to let eligible securities held in custody at DTC be represented and traded on Stellar, with support for corporate actions and reporting.
  • Quantum-safe signers for classic accounts - Expected in 2027 - Stellar wants to give classic accounts the ability to add quantum-safe signers in 2027. That way, accounts can get extra protection without changing addresses or moving their balances. This expands the planned protection to accounts outside Soroban smart contracts.
