  • 2025 - Price range: €0,04578 - €0,5505
    Nillion launched its alpha mainnet and the NIL token in March. The price was around €0,32 in April and rose to €0,5505 in May. After that, the price fell for a long stretch and ended up at €0,04578 in December, before recovering to €0,06438 at the end of the year. The drop lined up with the broad crypto sell-off on October 10, when new U.S. threats of higher import tariffs on China led to forced liquidations of leveraged positions. From the May peak to year-end, NIL fell about 88,3%.
  • Q1 2026 - Price range: €0,0263 - €0,0691
    NIL started the quarter around €0,064 and briefly climbed to €0,0691 in early January. After that, the price fell, with a short bounce in February, and reached €0,0263 at the end of March. During the same period, Nillion moved to Ethereum and opened the NIL migration. The project also launched Blacklight, where participants can verify attestations for private computations. NIL ended the quarter around €0,0286, about 55,6% lower than at the start.
  • Q2 2026 - Price range: €0,02723 - €0,0929405
    NIL started April around €0,0286 and barely moved at first. On May 7, the price shot up to €0,0929405, then quickly pulled back. A new bounce in the second half of May did not last; by the end of June, NIL was back around €0,0293. The rise from April's low to the May peak was about 241,3%, but from that peak the price fell about 68,5% by the end of the quarter. In April, Nillion activated Phase 2: developers got one portal for the services and could use NIL to buy credits for compute and storage services.
  • Q3 2026 - Price range: €0,0237155 - €0,1311245
    NIL started July around €0,0293 and initially moved little. After a low of €0,0237155 in early August, the price climbed in steps. The rise accelerated in September: the price reached €0,1311245 and then fell back to €0,0761395 at the end of the quarter. Over the quarter, NIL rose about 160,1%. In August, Nillion announced its strategy for Encrypted Markets, focused on encrypted orders that become readable under certain conditions. Later in September, the migration of Blacklight nodes from its own L2 to Ethereum L1 began.
  • Q4 2026 - Price range: €0,0684855 - €0,104004
    NIL was around €0,0761 at the start of October and first dropped to €0,0684855. After that, the price briefly rose to €0,104004, but most of those gains faded. On October 9, NIL was around €0,0758, almost the same as at the start of the quarter. The bounce from the low was about 51,9%; from the peak, the price then fell about 27,1%.

Upcoming Technical Updates


  • Blacklight L2 shutdown – Expected in 2026 - Nillion plans to shut down its existing Blacklight L2 later in 2026. The new Blacklight node activities on Ethereum L1 went live on October 5. Existing node operators need to withdraw their remaining rewards, move their NIL tokens to Ethereum, and register again if they want to keep participating on L1. A final shutdown date for the old L2 has not been announced yet.
  • Darkfall – Expected in November 2026 – February 2027 - With Darkfall, Nillion wants to expand its Covenants from Ethereum to other networks, including Arbitrum, Base, and Optimism. Covenants are encrypted orders that stay hidden until preset conditions are met. The timeline gives a period, but no exact launch date yet.
