Cronos Price History


  • 2018 - Price range: €0.01014 - €0.03475
    CRO was introduced in November as the token for Crypto.com’s proposed payments network. In December, the price briefly jumped to about €0.03475, but then fell back. CRO ended the year around €0.01773, about 49% lower than at the peak.
  • 2019 - Price range: €0.01052 - €0.1376
    CRO started the year around €0.01771 and dropped in February to about €0.01052. After that, it saw a strong rally: in July, the price climbed to about €0.1376. In September, the public test version of the Thaler network became available. By the end of the year, CRO had fallen sharply and closed around €0.02993, about 78.2% lower than at the peak.
  • 2020 - Price range: €0.02254 - €0.1700
    CRO started the year around €0.02993 and fell during the broad sell-off in March, when coronavirus concerns also hit the crypto market. After that, the price recovered and rose to about €0.1700 in August. In August, Crypto.com introduced a swap program that let holders convert their MCO tokens into CRO. That moved the company’s two-token setup under CRO. CRO later fell again and ended the year around €0.04791.
  • 2021 - Price range: €0.04791 - €0.8662
    CRO started the year around €0.04791 and rose sharply over the course of the year. In February, Crypto.com announced it would burn 70 billion CRO, cutting the planned total supply from 100 billion to 30 billion tokens. In March, Crypto.org Chain went live, with CRO used for transactions, network fees, and staking. In November, the Cronos EVM mainnet beta also went live, allowing developers to build apps with smart contracts using familiar Ethereum tools. CRO peaked later that month around €0.8662 and ended the year at €0.4902, about 43.4% lower than at the peak.
  • 2022 - Price range: €0.05185 - €0.5173
    CRO started the year around €0.4901 and then gradually declined. In May, Crypto.com lowered the rewards for its Visa cards, a well-known reason to hold CRO. That same month, TerraUSD and LUNA collapsed, causing heavy stress across the crypto market. The FTX collapse caused more broad market panic in November; at the same time, Crypto.com drew attention over an earlier mistaken transfer of ETH and customer withdrawals. CRO ended the year around €0.05198, about 89.4% lower than at the start.
  • 2023 - Price range: €0.04489 - €0.1163
    CRO traded mostly between €0.05 and €0.07 for much of the year. In October, the price dropped to about €0.04489, then quickly climbed to about €0.1163 in November. In January, Cronos completed the Galileo upgrade and the network left beta. CRO ended the year around €0.08960, about 72.3% higher than at the start.
  • 2024 - Price range: €0.06146 - €0.2222
    CRO started the year around €0.08964. After a pullback in January, the price rose above €0.15 in March, followed by a decline. In August, CRO fell to about €0.06146 during a broad sell-off in risk assets after weak U.S. economic data. That month, Cronos also launched the alpha mainnet version of Cronos zkEVM, an Ethereum network that runs alongside the existing networks. After that, CRO recovered strongly and the price reached about €0.2222 in December. CRO ended the year at €0.1359, about 51.6% higher than at the start.
  • 2025 - Price range: €0.04846 - €0.3338
    CRO started the year around €0.1359 and declined in the first half of the year. In March, Cronos agreed to reissue 70 billion CRO for a Strategic Reserve. The price fell to about €0.04846 in June and then rose quickly: by the end of August, it had climbed to about €0.3338. That month, Trump Media, Crypto.com, and Yorkville announced plans for a CRO reserve company; Trump Media also announced a purchase of about $105 million worth of CRO. CRO then fell again and ended the year around €0.07711, about 43.2% lower than at the start.
  • Q1 2026 - Price range: €0.05727 - €0.09524
    CRO started the quarter around €0.07714 and rose to about €0.09524 in the first week. After that, the price gradually declined and fell to about €0.05727 in early February. CRO then recovered slightly and ended the quarter around €0.06100, about 20.9% lower than at the start. In February, a proposal was also submitted for a Truth Social Cronos Yield Maximizer ETF, meant to offer CRO exposure and staking income.
  • Q2 2026 - Price range: €0.04651 - €0.07098
    CRO started April around €0.06097 and then mostly traded around €0.06. In May, the price rose to about €0.07098, after which it gradually declined. By the end of June, CRO was around €0.04713, about 22.7% lower than at the start of the quarter. In May, Cronos proposed a new model with lower staking rewards from new token issuance and more rewards from network revenue. At the end of June, native USDC and EURC went live on Cronos, along with Circle’s cross-chain transfer system.
  • Q3 2026 - Price range: €0.03939 - €0.06427
    CRO started July around €0.04713 and fell to about €0.03939 in August. After that, the price recovered and rose to about €0.06427 in September. CRO ended the quarter around €0.05907, about 25.3% higher than at the start. In September, Cronos launched the Ult app for Android, with features including spot trading, perpetual contracts, and sports prediction markets. The Federal Reserve also raised the policy rate by a quarter point that same month.
  • Q4 2026 - Price range: €0.05174 - €0.06281
    CRO started October around €0.05905 and rose that day to about €0.06281. After that, the price fell, with a low around €0.05174 on October 8. On October 9, CRO was around €0.05462, about 7.5% lower than at the start of the month. Cronos carried out the EVM v1.8 upgrade on October 22, with improvements to transaction processing and support for parallel execution.

Upcoming Technical Updates


  • Cronos zkEVM Alpha shutdown - Expected in Q2 2027 - Cronos plans to permanently shut down the zkEVM Alpha network on June 3, 2027. After that, the sequencer will stop and the network will no longer be accessible. Users should therefore withdraw their tokens or move them to another network in advance. Cronos is consolidating development resources on Cronos EVM; that network will remain active.
