  • In 2017 - In July 2017, BNB was launched via an ICO as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum. The first recorded price was around €0.094. Shortly after, in August 2017, the price dropped to a low of €0.086.
  • In 2020 – In September 2020, the BNB token moved from Ethereum to Binance’s own blockchain, the BNB Smart Chain (later renamed to BNB Chain), adding smart contract functionalities and significantly increasing its use in DeFi.
  • In 2021 - The price remained between €10 and €30 for a long time, but in 2021 it skyrocketed like a rocket to a peak of €533.20. This was one of the consequences of launching the Binance Smart Chain and the massive popularity of meme coins and NFTs on this chain.
  • In 2025 - The Maxwell hardfork was a major upgrade for BNB Smart Chain (BSC), reducing block times from 1.5 seconds to 0.75 seconds. The Maxwell upgrade was driven by three key proposals: BEP-524, BEP-563, and BEP-564.
  • In 2025 - BNB reached a new all-time high of over €700, breaking through an important psychological barrier. The BNB chain has experienced significant growth since its launch and has been a top 5 cryptocurrency for years.
