What Is Linea?

Linea is a Layer 2 network for Ethereum. This means Linea is built on top of Ethereum to make transactions faster and cheaper, while the network still benefits from Ethereum’s security.

Ethereum is popular, but it can sometimes be slow and expensive when many people use the network at the same time. Linea aims to solve this problem by processing transactions off the Ethereum mainnet and then recording the results on Ethereum. Linea is a zkEVM network. This means Linea uses zero-knowledge proofs while remaining compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine. Zero-knowledge proofs are cryptographic proofs that can show transactions are valid without needing to process all underlying data again on Ethereum. How Does Linea (LINEA) Work?

This makes Linea more efficient than transacting directly on Ethereum. Users benefit from lower transaction fees and faster processing, while the final settlement remains connected to Ethereum.

Linea is EVM-equivalent. This means the network works almost the same as Ethereum from a developer’s perspective. They can use existing Ethereum tools, deploy Solidity smart contracts, and build applications without having to learn a completely new programming environment.

What Is the LINEA Token?
