What Is Initia network (INIT)?

Initia network (INIT) is a Layer 1 blockchain and modular platform built to connect multiple app-chains and help liquidity move across different chains. An app-chain is a blockchain built for one specific app or project.

Developers can launch their own app-chains on Initia network , and those rollups get shared security and network services. That means individual projects do not have to build everything from scratch and can rely on a shared base instead.

Initia network is designed to bring in more apps and more liquidity. To support that goal, the network uses the Vested Interest Program, or VIP. Through rewards and incentives, Initia network aims to encourage developers and projects to join and help grow the ecosystem together. The INIT token is used in this ecosystem for transaction fees, staking, and governance. The total supply is 1 billion INIT, and those tokens can also be used in reward programs like VIP.

How Does Initia network (INIT) Work?

Initia network works with a modular design and supports Interwoven Rollups. These are custom Layer 2 blockchains built for separate apps, while still connecting to the mainnet. The platform provides RPCs, APIs, and developer tools to connect those rollups and share liquidity across different chains.

That setup makes it easier for assets and features to move between app-chains. Initia network ’s underlying Layer 1 is built with the Cosmos SDK and uses a Cosmos-like address format. In other words, the network is built to connect multiple app-chains through the Interwoven Stack while still letting each chain keep its own differences.

For consensus, Initia network uses CometBFT. This is the system that lets validators agree on which blocks are valid and should be added. The INIT token is used for transaction fees, staking by validators, and governance. The supply and incentives are meant to support participation and network security.

Who Are the Founders of Initia network ?

Initia network was founded by Ezaan Mangalji, better known as Zon, and Stan Liu. They started the project together in 2022. Initia network first focused on DeFi, but later shifted toward infrastructure that makes it easier for developers to build their own rollups and blockchain apps.

Zon and Liu saw that using multiple blockchains often leads to fragmented liquidity and a complicated user experience. With Initia network , they wanted different blockchains and rollups to work better together. That is why the project combines a Layer 1 blockchain with a technical stack for building and managing interconnected rollups.
